LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $856 million ahead of Saturday night’s drawing, making it the eighth-largest jackpot in the history of the game, according to the Kentucky Lottery.

The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, at 11 p.m. EST.

The jackpot has reached its current amount after 42 drawings in the current jackpot run. The record for the most consecutive drawings in a jackpot run is 47 drawings.

Meanwhile, a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold in Kentucky during Wednesday night’s drawing. The ticket was sold at Kroger, 1525 Madison Ave., Covington, and matched four white balls and the Powerball.

The winning numbers from Wednesday night’s drawing were 14-20-59-60-61, with a Powerball of 25.

The Kentucky Lottery said Wednesday night’s ticket was the 11th second-tier Powerball win in Kentucky since early May, when the current jackpot run began.
