GLASGOW, Ky. — Applications are now open for the 2026 Glasgow Christmas Parade, with entries due by Oct. 30 to receive the early registration fee.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. and will begin at Glasgow High School. This year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes & Silent Nights,” celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

The 1-623rd Field Artillery Regiment will serve as grand marshal.

Barren Inc. is accepting applications for the parade, which is limited to 150 entries.

Spots will be assigned in the order completed applications and payments are received. Once the parade reaches capacity, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

How to enter

The entry fee is $30 per vehicle for applications and payments received by Friday, Oct. 30. After that date, the fee increases to $60. The final deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m.

Applications must be completed for each entry and submitted to Erin Hiles at erin@barreninc.com. They can also be submitted in person at the Barren Inc. office, 126 E. Public Square, Suite 101, in Glasgow.

Payment is accepted by cash or check only. An entry is not finalized and a spot is not reserved until payment is received.

Participants must provide details about their entry, including its length, vehicle type and whether they want their float judged. Entries that exceed their stated length by 5 feet or more may be turned away at check-in.

Parade rules and awards

Entries must be decorated for Christmas and include Christmas lighting, with exceptions for military units, bands and dignitary units.

Candy may be handed out along the route but cannot be thrown into the crowd. Horns and sirens are prohibited, except for bands.

The parade will also have restrictions on political displays.

The theme celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary through American history, landmarks, military service and holiday traditions. Current political figures and displays focused on current politics will not be permitted.

Participants may enter judging in their division. First-place, runner-up and third-place winners will receive banners, and a Grand Marshal Award will be selected from the first-place winners.
