GLASGOW, Ky. — Emergency officials in Barren County are encouraging residents to sign up for community alerts designed to provide real-time information during emergencies and severe weather events.

“Seconds matter in an emergency. Stay informed with real-time emergency alerts, severe weather warnings, and important community notifications from Glasgow/Barren County public safety agencies,” officials said in a social media post.

The Konexus Community Notifications system allows residents to receive alerts by text message, email, voice call or mobile app notification.

Officials said the myAlerts app is available for both iPhone and Android devices, and residents can also register online.
