BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A longtime Barren County educator has been selected for the 2026 Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame.

Dorothy McCubbin is one of three educators selected for the 18th class of the Louie B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame, Western Kentucky University announced Thursday.

McCubbin spent 37 years working in Barren County in a variety of teaching and administrative roles before retiring.

She will be inducted alongside Katherine Cleary and Lana Green-Willis during a Hall of Fame ceremony Dec. 4 on WKU’s campus.

Cleary has spent 23 years teaching in preschools and elementary schools in Monroe, Warren, Logan and Allen counties.

Green-Willis taught social studies at Grayson County High School for 32 years.

The three educators were selected by a statewide committee.

The Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame was established in 2000 through a gift from former Gov. Louie B. Nunn. The program recognizes Kentucky teachers for their contributions to education and the state.

WKU has been home to the Hall of Fame since its creation because of the university’s long history of teacher education.

Full biographies of the 2026 inductees will be released during the Dec. 4 ceremony.
