GLASGOW, Ky. — A Barren County man has been indicted after a grand jury reviewed evidence tied to the April shooting deaths of a young mother and her unborn child.

Brandon L. Bond, 24, was indicted on multiple charges, including murder (domestic violence), first-degree fetal homicide and first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot.

As Bond appeared on the courtroom’s Zoom screen from the jail, members of the crowd held up signs in his view. The courtroom display showed both Bond and those in attendance.

The charges are connected to the April 6 shooting deaths of Ava Woodcock and her unborn daughter, Neveah. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of a restaurant along Cleveland Avenue.

Family members said Ava was “one of the most kindhearted people out there” who loved animals and loved babies.

Bond remains lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $2 million cash bond. An arraignment date was not immediately listed on court records or the indictment.

An indictment is a formal accusation and does not imply guilt. Grand jury proceedings are conducted in secret, and defendants are not permitted to present evidence or testimony during those proceedings.
