GLASGOW, Ky. — A Barren County Middle School staff member has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, according to Barren County Schools.

The district identified the staff member as Chad Gossett in a statement expressing condolences to his family, friends, students and colleagues.

Gossett served students at several schools throughout his career with the district. School officials said his death is deeply felt by those who worked alongside him and the students and families whose lives he touched.

Barren County Schools will have its Crisis Intervention Team and additional counselors available at Barren County Middle School when students and staff return Monday from fall break.

Counselors will be available throughout the school day to provide grief support to students and staff who need someone to talk to.

The district also plans to provide families with information and resources to help them support their children as they process the loss.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Chad's family, friends, students, and colleagues during this difficult time,” the district said.
