GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County Schools will hold its third public forum Tuesday as officials continue gathering community input on the future of the district’s buildings and facilities.

The Barren County Schools Local Planning Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Barren County Board of Education.

The forum is part of the committee’s work to develop a new District Facility Plan, which will identify the facilities and buildings the district may need to provide educational opportunities for students.

Tim Eaton, facilitator for the Local Planning Committee, is scheduled to explain the committee’s purpose and the process for developing the plan.

The central question for Tuesday’s forum will be: “What facilities/buildings are needed in Barren County to provide the best educational opportunities for all students?”

Community members will have an opportunity to share comments and suggestions with the committee. Those wishing to speak will need to sign up using a registration sheet available at the meeting.

The committee will also have a registration sheet for those attending the forum.

Tuesday’s meeting is the third public forum held as part of the District Facility Plan process.

A fourth and final public forum will be scheduled after the committee develops a draft of the District Facility Plan.

The Local Planning Committee is tasked with listening to community input as it works through the facility planning process.
