GLASGOW, Ky. — Families will once again have access to free summer meal kits in 2026 as the Barren County Schools district-wide feeding program prepares to provide weekly food support for children during the summer months.

The program will offer 7-day bulk meal kits containing both breakfast and lunch items for children ages 18 and under. Any one can apply to pick up meals as a part of the program.

Meal kits will be distributed for pickup each Wednesday throughout June and July at select school locations across the district. Each meal pack will consist of food that is either pre-packaged or requires minimal cooking.

According to Barren County Schools, space is limited at each pickup site, and locations will close once they reach capacity. Families are encouraged to register early to ensure participation.

To receive the first meal pickup on June 3, registration forms must be submitted by May 15.

In order to receive meals, families must complete a Google Form and list each child who will need a meal kit.

The sign-up form is available here.
