GLASGOW, Ky. — A Glasgow firefighter is recovering at a Nashville hospital after being injured while battling a house fire in Barren County on Friday morning.

Chase Dile, a firefighter with the Glasgow Fire Department, was among crews responding to a fully involved structure fire off New Salem Road.

According to a GoFundMe page, Dile suffered burns while fighting the blaze. He was initially taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital before being airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment.

Glasgow Fire Chief Lucas Tinsley declined to identify the firefighter but confirmed that an employee was injured “while performing work duties.”

“We are focused on supporting the employee and their family,” Tinsley said. “Due to privacy laws, we cannot release the employee’s identity or specific medical information at this time.”

The fundraiser, organized by Arrow Safety, is seeking $10,000 to assist Dile and his wife, who were recently married.

“Chase is known for his bravery and commitment to serving his community, and now he faces a long and difficult road to recovery,” the page states.
