Crews battle heavy flames at Cave City home
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
CAVE CITY — The Cave City Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire Tuesday evening that took several hours to bring under control.
According to the department, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 5:42 p.m. to a reported house fire along Wilson Road.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof and eaves of the home. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior and exterior attack to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further through the structure.
Crews remained on scene for several hours as they worked to fully extinguish the fire, according to a news release from the department.
No firefighters or civilians were injured, according to the fire department.
The Cave City Fire Department was assisted by the Park City Fire Department, Hiseville Fire Department, Glasgow Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe EMS and the Barren County Sheriff's Office.
