Cub Run woman found dead in tent at Dog Creek Recreation Area

CUB RUN — The Kentucky State Police is investigating the death of a Cub Run woman whose body was discovered Friday at the Dog Creek Recreation Area in Edmonson County.

According to a news release, Kentucky State Police Post 3 was contacted by the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office at approximately noon on May 30 regarding a possible death at the recreation area.

Troopers responded to the scene and located an unconscious woman lying inside a green tent. The woman was identified as Edith Vaughn, 38, of Cub Run.

The Hart County Coroner responded and pronounced Vaughn dead at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Trooper Devon Banaszak.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding Vaughn's death.
