The sheriff’s office is advising residents in the area to remain vigilant and not approach or confront the individual.

GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man accused of threatening a woman with a firearm Monday afternoon on Willie Groce Road.

According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 2200 block of Willie Groce Road after receiving a report of a possible burglary in progress.

Deputies made contact with a woman who told them a man had stopped at her residence and was asked to leave the property. The woman reported that the man became angry, produced a firearm and threatened her with it.

She told deputies the last time she saw the man, he was in her backyard.

The sheriff’s office said the man and woman knew each other and investigators believe the incident was isolated. They did not identify him publicly.

Deputies searched the home and surrounding area but could not locate him.

The sheriff’s office is advising residents in the area to remain vigilant and not approach or confront the individual.

An increased law enforcement presence is expected in the area until the man is located.

The investigation remains ongoing.
