GLASGOW, Ky. — The search for Eastern Elementary’s next principal will officially begin Tuesday after Barren County Schools promoted Principal Erika Devore.

According to a public meeting notice, the Eastern Elementary Site-Based Decision Making Council will meet at 1 p.m. July 21 at the Barren County Board of Education to begin the principal selection process.

The agenda includes principal selection training for council members, followed by a closed session to review applications for the position.

Devore was recently named the district’s newest director of instruction, creating the vacancy at Eastern Elementary.

Kentucky law gives school-based decision making councils the responsibility of selecting principals for their schools.
