GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County Fiscal Court has begun its search for the next director of the regional Drug Task Force, with applications being accepted through Aug. 17.

The director oversees the administration and day-to-day operations of the Drug Task Force, including coordinating investigations, managing grant compliance, preparing budgets and working with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on drug enforcement efforts throughout the region.

The job is listed as Director Ron Lafferty prepares to retire on Oct. 31.

According to the job posting, applicants should have strong leadership, organizational, communication and administrative skills. Experience in law enforcement, criminal justice, grant administration or a related field is preferred.
