GLASGOW, Ky. — School leaders are expected to announce the next principal of Eastern Elementary on Thursday morning following a selection process conducted by the school’s Site-Based Decision Making Council.

The announcement is scheduled to take place at Eastern Elementary at 9 a.m.

The council began the principal selection process on July 21 after Principal Erika DeVore was named Barren County Schools’ newest director of instruction, creating the opening at Eastern Elementary.

Under Kentucky law, school-based decision making councils are responsible for selecting principals for their schools.
