BROWNSVILLE, Ky. — A 65-year-old Brownsville man died Tuesday evening after his vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire in Edmonson County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 3 responded at about 7 p.m. to the 3800 block of Segal Road after receiving a report of a fatal single-vehicle collision from Edmonson County Dispatch.

A preliminary investigation indicates Tim Kinser, 65, of Brownsville, was driving a white Chevrolet passenger vehicle east on Segal Road when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. The vehicle then caught fire, according to KSP.

Kinser was pronounced dead at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner.

The cause of the crash has not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Trooper Grant Robertson is leading the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Edmonson County EMS, the Edmonson County Coroner’s Office and other Kentucky State Police personnel.
