GLASGOW, Ky. — Two emergency protective orders involving a former Glasgow fire assistant chief and a woman were dismissed Aug. 4, according to court records obtained by Barrenside.

Jason Botts, who resigned from the Glasgow Fire Department Feb. 16, was the subject of an emergency protective order filed by Victoria Daniels. Court records also show Botts filed an EPO against Daniels.

The EPO filed against Botts followed a Glasgow Police Department response to an incident on West Cherry Street on Feb. 15.

According to the police report, a woman identified as Daniels ran to a nearby residence, where a 911 caller reported she was bleeding and had a wound on her head.

The Glasgow Police Department initially responded to the incident but later requested assistance from Kentucky State Police after officers determined another city employee was involved.

In his EPO filing against Daniels, Botts alleged she assaulted him and a group of his friends with a kitchen knife and glassware.

Kentucky State Police previously confirmed they were investigating the incident.

At the time, state police said no arrests had been made and the case was expected to be presented to a Barren County grand jury.

According to court records, Daniels requested that the EPO she had filed against Botts be dismissed, while Botts separately requested that the EPO he had filed against Daniels be dismissed. The judge granted both requests on Aug. 4.

Current court records show no charges have been filed in connection with either alleged incident.

Barrenside has contacted Kentucky State Police seeking an update on the investigation, including whether the case was ever presented to a grand jury, but had not received a response as of publication.

Barrenside also contacted Botts and Daniels about the dismissals. Neither had commented by publication time.

The bottom line

Both emergency protective orders were dismissed Aug. 4 at the request of the people who filed them. Current court records show no charges have been filed in connection with the allegations, while the status of the Kentucky State Police investigation remains unclear.
