GLASGOW, Ky. — Eight years after its original run, the Far Off Broadway Players are bringing back their rock-and-roll take on Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” revisiting a production the theater group says has remained memorable for audiences.

The stage adaptation by Mickey Fisher reimagines the gothic horror classic as a modern, graphic-novel-inspired spectacle, combining horror, intrigue and rock music in a fast-paced retelling of the vampire’s story.

Fisher is also the creator of the Netflix series “Extant,” which starred Halle Berry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The stage features a dark, imposing set, accented by red lighting and billowing smoke to create an eerie, atmospheric backdrop.

The production features several familiar faces, including Joshua Stewart as Dracula, Christy Ballard as Lucy Westenra, Paul Glodfelter as Abraham Van Helsing, Rodney Rainey as Renfield, Allen Hogan as Dr. John Seward, Emily Monestere as Mina Murray, Nicolas Smith as Jonathan Harker, Ross Bowles as Arthur Holmwood and John Gonzalez as Quincy Morris.

Olivia Vaught, Tracy Martin and Meggie Ellis portray Dracula’s brides. Ellis also plays Sister Agatha.

Chance Beals and Nickolas Hudson are directing the production.

The Far Off Broadway Players are inviting audiences to experience the return of their high-energy interpretation of one of literature’s best-known horror stories.

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 16-18 at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets and seating information are available through the Plaza Theatre’s website.
