GLASGOW, Ky. — The Joyce Driver Aquatic Center closed early Tuesday after fecal contamination was discovered in the pool, according to the Glasgow Parks and Recreation Department.

“Due to an aquatic incident, the Joyce Driver Aquatic Center is closed for the remainder of today (6/23/26),” a social media post said Tuesday afternoon.

Parks Director Eddie Furlong said a child accidentally defecated in the pool, triggering a policy that requires the entire facility to close while the contamination is flushed from the system.

Furlong said the process takes several hours to complete.
