TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. — Funeral arrangements have been announced for longtime Monroe County Sheriff Roger Dale “Frog” Ford, who died Friday at the age of 70.

Services for Ford will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow at Mt. Poland Cemetery. Bro. Shannon Arnett will officiate.

The department extended condolences to Ford’s family and asked the community to keep both his loved ones and fellow law enforcement officers in their thoughts.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and again Wednesday morning beginning at 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Ford served in law enforcement for 48 years, including 10 years as Tompkinsville chief of police and 12 years as Monroe County sheriff, according to his obituary.

Ford was first elected as sheriff in 2014 and was in his third term.

He is survived by his wife, Ronda Ford; children Kimberly Arnett, Chris Ford and Sean Ford; stepchildren Shelby Burgess and Alex Bartley; and eight grandchildren, along with several siblings.

Pallbearers will be Dwaine “Bubba” Barnett, Richard Shirley, John Cleary, Brian Coffelt, Ricky Richardson and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers include a large group of colleagues, friends and members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association Boys and Girls Ranch.
