GLASGOW, Ky. — A familiar face at WKU Glasgow is taking on a larger leadership role across Western Kentucky University.

Stephanie Prichard, who has served in leadership at WKU Regional Campuses and worked closely with the Glasgow campus for years, has been named interim director of WKU Regional Campuses. She will begin her new role July 13.

Prichard succeeds Dr. Derick Strode, who was recently selected to become director of The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science. Both appointments take effect July 13.

Familiar face to lead WKU’s Gatton Academy into next chapter
Alongside his leadership of The Gatton Academy, Strode most recently served as the administrator overseeing WKU’s regional campuses, including WKU Glasgow.

A longtime member of the Regional Campuses team, Prichard most recently served as assistant director after previously working as senior regional campuses academic advisor, according to WKU.

As interim director, she will oversee WKU's regional campuses in Glasgow, Elizabethtown-Fort Knox, Owensboro and Somerset.

Her appointment is especially notable for the Glasgow campus, where she has been a familiar presence while helping support students and academic programming.

“I am exceptionally confident in Stephanie’s interim leadership of Regional Campuses,” Strode said. “Stephanie has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and the communities we serve. Her knowledge of our regional campuses, relationships with community partners, and dedication to expanding educational opportunities make her well-prepared to lead during this transition.”

According to WKU, Prichard will lead the regional campus system as the university continues expanding academic offerings, workforce-focused education and transfer pathways across southcentral Kentucky.

Prichard will serve in the interim role while WKU conducts a national search later this summer and fall for a permanent director.
