GLASGOW, Ky. — The Glasgow Police Department is introducing a new design and color scheme for its patrol vehicles.

According to a media release, the updated design features a more streamlined look with high-visibility reflective elements intended to make patrol vehicles easier to see.

GPD said the new design was selected through a collaborative process involving patrol officers from each squad. Officers submitted ideas, which were then narrowed down and voted on across the department.

The transition to the new vehicle design will take place gradually as older patrol vehicles are retired. The department said this approach will allow for a cost-effective rollout without unnecessary expense.

Residents can expect to begin seeing the updated vehicles in service in the coming weeks.

The department also plans to display one of the newly designed vehicles at its headquarters for the public to view and take photos. The vehicle will also be featured at upcoming community events.
