GLASGOW, Ky. — A man was jailed early Wednesday after Glasgow police say he attempted to meet a juvenile for sex after making contact through an online dating platform.

Kalvin L. Timm, 32, was booked into the Barren County Detention Center on charges including third-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.

According to police, officers responded Tuesday to a residence on Lexington Drive after receiving a complaint that a person was trying to break into the home.

A woman told police her teen son was home alone, so police responded and went into the residence. That is where they found Timm and the juvenile.

Investigators allege Timm had communicated with the juvenile through Grindr, a dating app, and traveled to the residence intending to engage in sexual activity.

Timm told police he thought the juvenile was 19 and continued telling officers he could show messages supporting his statements. They determined the male was under age.

Police said the pair had engaged in at least one sexual activity before they arrived.

Authorities also discovered the two had been communicating online and sent “lewd photographs” before agreeing to meet.

Timm is scheduled to appear in court June 11 for arraignment.
