SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — The Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force has reopened the investigation into the 2020 death of 7-year-old Revelin Meador and is now treating the case as a homicide.

Meador died Aug. 1, 2020, on Celsor Road in Fountain Run, according to the task force. Her obituary said she died at her home.

In a post shared this week, the task force said detectives recently secured and analyzed new information and evidence that led to the case being reclassified.

Detective Robert Smith is leading the investigation.

The task force is asking anyone who lived near, traveled on or visited Celsor Road around August 2020 to come forward with any information that could help investigators establish a timeline.

“Even the smallest detail you remember could solidify the final pieces of this case,” the task force said.

Investigators said they are also speaking with people connected to the case as they work to determine what happened.

The task force did not provide additional details about the new evidence or explain what led investigators to reclassify the death as a homicide.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Smith at r.smith@scottsvillepolice.org.
