GLASGOW, Ky. — Barrenside will provide live coverage of the 2026 primary election returns on May 19, bringing voters updates on key local races as results come in across Barren County and Kentucky.

Barrenside’s Brennan Crain and local historian Sam Terry will anchor the live election coverage in partnership with Glasgow EPB.

With the primary election approaching, Barrenside is breaking down what you need to know.

Kentucky voters will head to the polls May 19 for the 2026 primary election, with several local races expected to effectively determine who will hold office due to limited opposition in November.

“We want people across Barren County to have a trusted local source for election night coverage and context,” Barrenside editor Brennan Crain said. “Sam Terry brings decades of local knowledge, and we’re excited to provide live updates throughout the evening.”

The forum will be moderated by Barrenside’s Brennan Crain, with questions drawn from public input and key issues facing the Barren County community.

In Barren County, the races for judge/executive and sheriff will be decided in the Republican primary after no Democratic candidates filed to challenge the Republican nominees in the general election. As a result, the winners of those contests are expected to take office following the November election.

Barrenside’s election night coverage will include live updates, race results and analysis from across the county, including Glasgow City Council, magistrate and other contested local races.
