GLASGOW, Ky. — The last day to register to vote in the Kentucky primary is Monday ahead of the May 19 primary elections.

In Kentucky, state law mandates a primary election must be held on the first Tuesday after the third Monday.

Registration, online or in-person, must be completed by 4 p.m. local time. Mailed registration must be postmarked by April 20. County clerks will register you in person.

Kentuckians who are 17 but will be 18 by the general election may also vote in Kentucky primaries. The general election is Nov. 3.

Important dates to remember:

  • Excused, in-person absentee voting: May 6 - 8 and May 11 - 13
  • In-person, no-excuse absentee voting: May 14-16
  • Election Day: May 19
