GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County has multiple designated tornado safe room locations intended to give residents accessible shelter options during severe weather events.

The list includes volunteer fire departments and public facilities in Glasgow, Cave City, Smiths Grove, and Park City, according to county information.

Officials say residents experiencing severe weather threats or tornado warnings can seek shelter at the following locations:

  • South Barren Volunteer Fire Department (Station 1), 197 Steam Mill Road, Smiths Grove
  • South Barren Volunteer Fire Department (Station 2), 6200 Old Bowling Green Road, Glasgow
  • East Barren Volunteer Fire Department, 761 Hollis Thomas Road, Glasgow
  • Haywood Volunteer Fire Department, 67 Matthews Mill Road, Glasgow
  • Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department (Station 1), 8543 Tompkinsville Road, Glasgow
  • Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department (Station 2), 7694 Roseville Road, Glasgow
  • Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department (Station 2), 728 Tick Ridge Road, Glasgow
