GLASGOW, Ky. — The Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library will temporarily close Aug. 13 through Aug. 31 as staff undertake work to update and reorganize the library’s collection.

During the closure, library staff will remove older and damaged materials, conduct an inventory and make room for new additions to the collection.

The library’s digital services will remain available while the building is closed.

Patrons can continue accessing eBooks, digital audiobooks, streaming services and other online resources, according to a social media post.

Library officials are also encouraging patrons to make sure their library cards are current so they can continue using digital services during the closure.

The library’s book drop will also be closed during this period. No late fees will be charged while the library is closed.

Previously scheduled library programs will continue as planned during August. Those programs will be held in the Community Meeting Room upstairs.

The library is scheduled to reopen Sept. 1.
