EDMONTON, Ky. — Metcalfe County Middle School has named Matt Reed as its new assistant principal.

Reed will replace LeAnne Bell, who was recently promoted to principal of Metcalfe County Middle School.

Reed has spent 18 years in education, beginning his career as a physical education teacher at Edmonton Elementary and later Metcalfe County Elementary before moving to Metcalfe County Middle School, where he has worked for the past six years.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as assistant principal at Metcalfe County Middle School, the school that has been my home for the past 6 years,” Reed said. “Teaching here has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with our students, families, and staff. I am excited to continue making connections and helping our students and staff grow, learn, and achieve great things together.”

Bell said Reed’s leadership experience and relationships within the school community made him a strong choice for the position.

“I’m excited about Mr. Reed being our next assistant principal,” Bell said. “He consistently steps up as a leader at MCMS and is well-respected by our school community. I look forward to working with him to help lead us forward.”

Reed is married to Mattie Reed, an exceptional child instructor at Metcalfe County Elementary School. They have two children, Marley, 12, and Mollie, 7.
