GLASGOW, Ky. — A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while using a crosswalk Thursday, according to the Glasgow Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred at the intersection of S.L. Rogers Wells Boulevard and Grandview Avenue near Verizon.

A preliminary investigation found Justin Matthews was turning left from Grandview Avenue onto S.L. Rogers Wells Boulevard when his vehicle struck Robert Fitzgerald, who was in the crosswalk.

Fitzgerald was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Police did not release the extent of his injuries.

Officer Patrick Wade is continuing the investigation.
