HISEVILLE — Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop has been named a recipient of a 2026 Best of Kentucky Award from Guide to Kentucky, recognizing the family-owned business for its longtime service to the region.

Founded in downtown Hiseville in 1960 by the late Clyde and Helen Phillips, the business has expanded from a neighborhood grocery into a regional retailer with locations in Hiseville, Greensburg and Glasgow.

The company is known for its full-service butcher shop, where meats are cut and prepared daily, along with a selection of grocery items, fresh produce, frozen foods, Kentucky Proud products and dairy products from Hiseville-based Legacy Dairy.

The stores are supplied primarily through Associated Wholesale Grocers of Nashville.

Trevor Phillips, co-owner of Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop, said the recognition reflects the support the business has received from customers over the years.

“This award means a great deal to our family and our team because it reflects the trust our customers place in us every day,” Phillips said. “Our slogan, ‘Always Fresh. Always Local. Always Family.’ is more than something we say. It is how we try to serve every person who walks through our doors.”

The family-owned business said it plans to continue focusing on fresh products and customer service while serving communities across south-central Kentucky.

Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop operates stores at 67 E. Main St. in Hiseville, 114 S. First St. in Greensburg and a butcher shop at 106 Shane Drive in Glasgow.
