SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — Allen County authorities are asking for the public’s help as they continue investigating the death of a 1-year-old child.

The Scottsville Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Office began the investigation after responding to Cottage Drive on July 27.

Authorities arrested Alexandrae R. Price, 22, and Deavan J. Williams, 22, charging each with first-degree criminal abuse of a child age 12 or younger. Jail records show the two were transferred to Simpson County on Wednesday.

Police said the charges stem from “extreme neglect,” alleging the toddler was “forced to live in dangerous and hazardous living conditions.”

As discussion about the case has spread across social media, investigators are urging anyone with firsthand knowledge to come forward.

“It’s one thing to discuss it online, but it’s another to come forward with information that could help investigators,” Scottsville Police said.

Investigators will be available at the Scottsville Police Department from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to speak with anyone who may have information related to the case.

“We encourage family members, friends, coworkers, neighbors, delivery drivers, postal employees, service providers, or anyone else who may have knowledge of the home, the individuals involved, or the child to stop by and speak with us.”

Police said even details that may seem minor could prove valuable to investigators and encouraged anyone with information to let detectives determine what may be relevant.

“If you delivered food, mail, packages, or visited the residence for any reason and noticed anything unusual, we want to speak with you,” police said.
