CAVE CITY, Ky. — A Dayton, Ohio woman involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 65 near Cave City has died from her injuries, according to Kentucky State Police.

State police said Aleah Kroger, 35, died May 24 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville following the crash, which occurred around 7 a.m. Friday near the 53.2 mile marker on Interstate 65.

A preliminary investigation indicates Kroger was driving a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound near the 53 mile marker when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a semi-truck parked on the shoulder.

Two juvenile passengers inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.

Kroger was initially transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green before being transferred to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Grant Robertson with Kentucky State Police.

State police said the investigation was assisted by the Cave City Police Department, Cave City Fire Department, Barren County EMS and additional KSP personnel.
