GLASGOW, Ky. — Three people, including two young children, were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on Scottsville Road, according to the Barren County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Scottsville Road to investigate the collision.

According to the preliminary investigation, Chasity McClard, of Scottsville, was traveling south in a 2007 GMC Sierra when she encountered a vehicle ahead that was turning left into a driveway.

Investigators said McClard steered into the northbound lane to avoid a collision before overcorrecting, causing her pickup to lose control and spin.

A 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gerald Kieffer, also of Scottsville, was traveling north when the crash occurred.

Kieffer attempted to avoid McClard's spinning vehicle but was unable to do so, striking the driver's side rear quarter of the GMC, according to the sheriff's office.

McClard and two small children who were passengers in her vehicle were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Kieffer was also taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
