What to know about Glasgow’s America 250 celebration
Both events are free and open to families in the community.
GLASGOW, Ky. — Entertain Glasgow will host two evenings of community events this weekend celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday.
The celebration begins Friday with live music on the downtown public square. Food trucks and festivities will begin at 5 p.m., followed by performances at 7 p.m.
Blaine Harden will open for Green River Band Friday, according to Entertain Glasgow.
The Glasgow Police Department announced several road closures ahead of the event. The east side of the public square will close at 8 a.m. Friday, followed by the north side at 3 p.m. and the south side at 5 p.m.
The celebration continues Saturday at the Plaza Theatre, where Colton Kise and Daryl Worley will perform at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The event was moved from Beaver Creek Park to the Plaza due to the chance of inclement weather. A previously scheduled drone show will be moved to another date.
Both events are free and open to families in the community.
