GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County has issued a no-outside-burning order effective Friday, Sept. 4, because of hazardous conditions.

The ban applies to all areas of Barren County and prohibits burning any material outdoors. It also prohibits the lighting of fireworks.

There is one exemption listed in the order: Campfires contained within a fire pit at an established campground are allowed.

The order will remain in effect until sufficient rainfall reduces the hazardous conditions and the ban is lifted, the county said.

Barren County is among several Kentucky counties currently under burn bans. The Kentucky Division of Forestry’s list also includes Bracken, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd and Warren counties.
