What's on the agenda for Barren Fiscal Court?

GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren Fiscal Court is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday with a mix of routine business and several items requiring formal approval.

Among the items on the agenda is a proposed lease renewal for the Austin Boat Ramp at Barren River Lake. Magistrates are also expected to consider Ordinance No. 705 on first reading, which would amend the county's administrative code.

Fiscal Court will review monthly reports from the county attorney, county clerk and sheriff, including the sheriff's 2025 franchise tax and property tax account settlements.

The court is also scheduled to consider several invoices, including:

  • $12,008 to Software Management
  • $14,800 to Cloudpermit
  • $15,000 to Carr Riggs & Ingram
  • $24,853 to the Barren River Area Development District
  • $27,202.94 to Greyrock Excavation
  • $35,132.26 to Glasgow Water Company
  • $39,673 to Harp Enterprises

Proposed appointments include Amy Shipley to the library board and Bethany Steenberg to the Opioid Committee.

Reappointments under consideration include Kristen Haynes and Matthew Compton to the Glasgow-Barren County Tourist and Convention Commission, as well as Jeff Martin to both the BRADD Aging Council and the Emergency Food and Shelter Program board.

Additional agenda items include approval of claims, fund transfers, personnel actions and appointments to boards and councils.

The meeting will begin with a proclamation recognizing Dairy Month.

Several committee meetings were canceled ahead of Tuesday's meeting, including the Administrative and Budget Committee, Building and Property Committee, Economic Development Committee, Emergency Management/Solid Waste Committee, Jail Committee and Parks and Recreation Committee.
