SMITHS GROVE, Ky. — Ace Coffee Co., a Cave City coffee shop, plans to open a second location in Smiths Grove.

The business announced the expansion Thursday and said it is targeting an opening the week before Thanksgiving. It will be Ace Coffee Co.’s first brick-and-mortar expansion since the business opened in Cave City in March 2024.

The Smiths Grove location will be smaller than the Cave City shop and will have a more limited espresso menu. The menu is expected to include macchiatos, cortados, cappuccinos, espresso, Italian affogatos, lattes and matcha.

The shop also plans to offer pastries, mini quiches, chocolates, cold brew, canned cold beverages and a small grab-and-go selection.

The new location will be in a historic building and is being developed in collaboration with Indigo Fox, an event venue and pop-up studio associated with Foxhole in the Grove.

Owner Leticia Cline said the Smiths Grove location has a personal connection to her family. Her grandmother, Stella, previously operated a diner in Smiths Grove, where Cline said she spent summers working.

She said she remembers local farmers gathering at the diner each morning at what was known as the “coffee drinkers’ table.”

“Smiths Grove has always held a special place in my heart,” Cline said. “So when the opportunity came to bring Ace here, especially inside a historic building with a story of its own, it felt like things were coming full circle.”

The company said additional details about the Smiths Grove location will be released as construction and preparation continue.
