GLASGOW, Ky. — Portions of the Glasgow Public Square will close in stages Thursday ahead of a Louisville Orchestra performance scheduled for downtown.

According to a traffic alert, the east side of the square will close at 11 a.m., followed by the north side at 3 p.m. and the south side at 5 p.m.

A graphic released by the Glasgow Police Department shows the scheduled street closures around the Public Square ahead of Thursday’s Louisville Orchestra performance.

The phased closures are being implemented in preparation for the Louisville Orchestra’s return to Glasgow as part of its In Harmony Tour, a free outdoor concert that has become a popular summer tradition in the city.

The performance is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CDT in the heart of downtown.

Organizers say the event will feature a wide-ranging program and encourage attendees to bring chairs or blankets.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays around the Public Square throughout the day as crews prepare the area for the evening concert.
