GLASGOW, Ky. — Demolition and site preparation work along Rogers Road is paving the way for a new operations center for Edmonton State Bank.

The property, formerly home to Witty’s Muffler and Alignment and the Matthew Stevens Mortgage Team, is owned by the bank.

Reached for comment Friday, Edmonton State Bank said it plans to expand its campus with a new operations center, allowing it to relocate some existing employees while creating space for future growth and additional hiring.

“As a community bank with deep roots in Barren County, we are committed to growing alongside the people and businesses we serve,” said David Thompson, president of Edmonton State Bank. “Preparing this property for future use is part of that commitment, and we look forward to continuing to invest in our community while creating opportunities to better serve our customers.”

Bank officials said Witty’s Muffler and Alignment had been a valued neighbor for many years. After the business closed Sept. 12, 2024, Edmonton State Bank decided to move forward with plans to expand its campus.

The Matthew Stevens Mortgage Team office building was torn down in recent weeks, joining the former Witty’s Tire and Muffler property, which has sat vacant since its building was demolished more than a year ago.
