GLASGOW, Ky. — A young South Central Kentucky soccer fan’s search for a special World Cup collectible turned into a memory he won’t soon forget.

Benton Smith, an avid fan of McDonald’s Grimace character, had his sights set on the restaurant’s FIFA World Cup™ collectible featuring the purple mascot.

With help from the Burrell Family McDonald’s Glasgow location, Benton’s wish became a reality.

Benton’s aunt, Jessica Carver, who is a licensed pilot, flew Benton, her daughter Ruby, and Benton’s father, Kellen Smith, from Bowling Green to the Burrell Family McDonald’s headquarters in Elizabethtown.

When they arrived, Benton was greeted by Grimace himself during a surprise meet-and-greet.

The trip combined Benton’s love of soccer, his favorite McDonald’s character, and a family adventure that took to the skies.
