GLASGOW, Ky. — Harbor Freight opened its new Glasgow store Tuesday, bringing 10 to 15 jobs to the community.

The store, located at 376 N. L. Rogers Wells Blvd., opened Sept. 29 and is part of the company’s more than 1,600 locations nationwide, including 32 in Kentucky.

Danny Decanter, Harbor Freight’s district manager, said the new location will make the company’s tools and equipment more accessible to customers in Glasgow and the surrounding area.

The company said it hired locally for the store, adding to its workforce of about 400 employees in Kentucky.

Harbor Freight describes itself as a tool retailer serving professional customers and do-it-yourself shoppers. The family-owned company began as a mail-order business in Southern California in 1977.

The Glasgow store is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
