BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Kentucky State Police have released the route for Sunday’s funeral procession for fallen Trooper Hayden W. Phillips, giving members of the public a chance to line the route and show their support for his family.

The procession will leave E.A. Diddle Arena at Western Kentucky University following Sunday’s funeral and travel from Bowling Green to Glasgow.

It will leave the arena on Avenue of Champions and turn right onto University Boulevard. University Boulevard becomes Kentucky Street before the procession continues along the U.S. 68 corridor through Bowling Green toward Louisville Road and KY 446 East.

The procession will continue east on KY 446 to I-65 North, then take Exit 43 onto the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway toward Glasgow and Somerset.

From the Cumberland Parkway, the procession will take Exit 8 toward KY 3600, KY 90, Glasgow and Cave City.

It will turn left onto KY 3600, also known as the Glasgow Outer Loop, then turn right onto New Bowling Green Road/West Main Street.

The procession left the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville Tuesday morning and traveled south on I-65 through Cave City before reaching Glasgow.

The procession will continue along West Main Street before turning right onto Leslie Avenue and proceeding to Fort Williams/Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Kentucky State Police said members of the public may stage along the procession route to show their support for Phillips’ family.

Funeral details

Phillips’ funeral service will begin at noon Sunday at E.A. Diddle Arena, 1605 Avenue of Champions, on the Western Kentucky University campus.

Burial will immediately follow at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery, 303 Leslie Ave., in Glasgow. The burial is near Fort Williams.

Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Living Hope Baptist Church, 1805 Westen St., in Bowling Green.

Phillips, 28, was shot and killed Sept. 28 during a traffic stop in Warren County. He was a three-year Kentucky State Police veteran and served with Post 3 in Bowling Green.

Phillips was a Barren County resident and leaves behind his wife, Jordan, and three children.
