The day that began with hundreds gathered to remember a trooper ended with hundreds standing quietly to remember a husband, a father, a farmer and a man whose life meant something to far more people than those who knew him at home.
Emonnie D. Branch Sr. waived extradition in Kentucky after his arrest on a Tennessee probation warrant and faces charges in the killing of KSP Trooper Hayden Phillips.
The waiver allows authorities to return Branch to Tennessee without going through a contested extradition process.
The procession will leave E.A. Diddle Arena at Western Kentucky University following Sunday’s funeral and travel from Bowling Green to Glasgow.
Branch was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Friday morning.
According to court records, the shooting was captured on camera before the suspect drove away.
