GLASGOW, Ky. — A high-speed pursuit that began in Warren County ended Friday in Barren County after law enforcement used tire deflation devices to stop the vehicle, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP Trooper Katan Parker told Barrenside media partner WBKO the pursuit began after a vehicle was observed driving recklessly and speeding in Warren County.

The driver failed to stop, leading law enforcement into neighboring Barren County.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit and deployed tire deflation devices on Rex Bartley Road, disabling the vehicle and bringing the chase to an end, according to KSP.

The driver, identified by state police as 18-year-old Yousiff Masoud Gha Amin, was arrested at the scene.

Gha Amin faces charges of fleeing or evading police in the first degree, wanton endangerment in the first degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, reckless driving, speeding 26 mph or more over the posted speed limit, operating on a suspended or revoked license, failure of a non-owner operator to maintain required insurance or security, and failure to wear a seat belt.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 17. His bond remains set at $10,000.
