GLASGOW, Ky. — The longtime Save A Lot location in Glasgow is closing, but customers will soon be able to find the store across town.

Save A Lot first opened in Glasgow on Sept. 28, 1994, at 400 S. Green St., where it has operated ever since. The store is now set to relocate to 742 E. Main St., the former site of a Houchens IGA that served the community for years.

The East Main Street location has been closed for several months as Houchens Food Group, the parent company of Save A Lot, transitions operations. Effective June 3, the store will officially relocate to its new East Main Street location.

The South Green Street location remained open as of Monday, while crews were seen at the East Main Street site performing what appeared to be interior work.

Houchens Food Group operates additional locations in Glasgow, including stores on Happy Valley Road and at South Gate Plaza. A Save A Lot location in Cave City also remains open, where it has operated for decades, even before the Glasgow store opened.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled at the new location June 3 at 2 p.m., according to Barren Inc.
