CAVE CITY, Ky. — New sidewalks are taking shape along North Dixie Highway, bringing pedestrian infrastructure to a stretch of roadway that previously lacked paved walkways.

The project is partially funded through a Transportation Alternatives Program grant, which requires the city to contribute to the total cost.

Administered through the Federal Highway Administration, the program provides funding for pedestrian and bicycle facilities and other improvements designed to make communities safer and more accessible.
