GLASGOW, Ky. — The deadline to file for the November ballot passed Tuesday at 4 p.m., with several candidates officially entering local races.

The May 19 primary across Kentucky narrowed the field of partisan candidates to one per party in most contests.

In Barren County, most races feature Republican candidates, leaving many effectively decided after election night. A separate Aug. 24 deadline remains in place for write-in candidates seeking to enter the races.

Candidates for Cave City, Park City and school board offices must file by June 2
Those interested in filing for office can contact their local county clerk’s office for additional information.

A few contests will still appear on the November ballot, including the countywide jailer’s race and several magistrate races.
