PARK CITY, Ky. — Park City Elementary School has been recognized by the Kentucky Department of Education for its approach to teacher development and student learning.

The school was one of 13 Best Practice winners at the 2026 Kentucky Continuous Improvement Summit, held Sept. 21–22 at the Central Bank Center in Lexington.

Principal Ben Jackson, Brian Clifford, Reva Bland, Whitney Curd and Alicia Woosley shared the school’s project, “Systems That Support Success: A Weekly Model for Teacher Development & Standards-Aligned Student Agency.”

The project highlights the school’s weekly model for teacher development and standards-aligned student agency. The recognition also gives Park City’s work an opportunity to be shared with educators across Kentucky.

The Kentucky Department of Education presented each winning school or district with a $1,000 check to support school improvement.

More than 1,200 educators and education leaders from across Kentucky attended the two-day summit, which focused on sharing strategies to strengthen teaching, leadership and student outcomes.

The awards recognize practices submitted by Kentucky schools, districts and regional education cooperatives. The department’s Best Practices and Sustainability website serves as a resource for educators looking for strategies to improve student learning and school operations.

“The 2026 Kentucky Continuous Improvement Summit brought together more than 1,200 educators and education leaders from across the Commonwealth to learn, collaborate and share ideas that can strengthen teaching, leadership and student outcomes,” Kentucky Education Commissioner Robbie Fletcher said.

The department plans to hold its next Continuous Improvement Summit Sept. 13–14, 2027.
