Sallie Marie Morgan

Sallie Marie Byrd Morgan, 98, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully at her home on April 9, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Barren County, born on August 6, 1927, to the late Fred Byrd and the late Eula Chapman Byrd.

She retired from Glasgow Manufacturing Company (Handmacher) to stay home to care for her grandson, Doug, and to help her husband, Jewell, on the farm. She loved gardening and canning, but especially loved making her banana cake and fried apple pies for family and friends. She was a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Morgan; brothers, Leon, Cleon, and Eldon Byrd; and sisters, Deliah Riddle and Emma Garner.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Danny Hardin; grandson and his wife, Doug and Holly Hardin of Georgetown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful neighbors and friends.

A special thanks to her great-niece and caregiver, Janet Dodson, and Jessica Pyanowski, as well as Kira Garrett and Sonya Deckard with Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BRAWA or the Shanti Niketan Hospice House.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
